I have curly hair (type3) low porosity, that gets so tangled, and I've tried everything from the Unbrush to the staple detangler brush that you can spread apart (iykyk), I've tried Denman, I've tried the WET brush, I've tried every brand from Walmart, and none have worked...until this wide tooth bamboo comb, which is funny because you'd think that a wide tooth wouldn't detangle properly, you'd think it wouldn't get every knot, but it does for me (to my surprise). I feel like the science behind it is, it gently brushes through your hair without creating new knots while trying to brush though tangles that are already there. With brushes that have a lot of bristles, it seems that they cause more knots while trying to detangle as opposed to fewer bristles, the Unbrush is an example, it has less bristles, and no balls at the ends, few and straight bristles that decrease in circumference from the base to the top, it was the best detangler I had but still did not work the way it was promoted to work. I love this bamboo comb set, it works, its gentle on my hair, its good for the environment, and its an affordable set. I have gotten my hair detangled in record time and no pain from pulling out knots. It also doesn't pull hair out of my head, I have way less shedding and my hair gets 100% detangled, which is such a big thing for me because the other brushes I used would pull out so much hair and I thought that was my normal shed IT WASN'T. All around 10/10, I do recommend.
